Doorway to Channelwood
One of the most interesting puzzles, the journey to Channelwood is ingeniously integrated into a giant mechanical tree. It becomes an elevator that takes you high above the treetops and then down deep into the underground where you will find the liking book.
Your objective here is to light the boiler so the tree rises, then shut off power to the tree so that it descends with enough time for you to hitch a ride down with it.
Step 1: Find the wooden building across from the rocket voltage shack and activate the marker switch beside it.
Step 2: Rotate the tower in the library to the new picture representing the tree.
Step 3: In the tower, view the tree through the crack to double check positioning.
Step 4: Copy down the safe combination numbers.
Step 5: Dial in the combo and open the safe to reveal a box of matches.
Step 6: Take a match and strike it on the side of the box (note: match will burn out in time).
Step 7: Make sure the heater wheel is turned on a couple turns then light the boiler below.
Step 8: Wait until you hear the tree has climbed to the top, then shut off the gas with the wheel (turn with the red icon).
Step 9: Run to the tree as it makes its decent and step inside the opening before it disappears under the ground.
Step 10: Ride the tree to the bottom then enter the room where Channelwood's linking book awaits.
